And one more thing: if Sleeping Dogs ever gets a sequel, please don’t feel like it needs to become a huge, ultra-modern AAA game.
We don’t need cutting-edge 4K graphics, extreme photorealism, an enormous map, or dozens of new gameplay mechanics. The original game still looks and plays great today. Its combat, movement, driving, parkour, animations and overall gameplay are already incredibly fun.
Honestly, I would be completely happy with a sequel that keeps almost everything exactly as it is — the same gameplay style, the same combat system, the same atmosphere and even a similar visual quality — but gives us a new story with Wei Shen and new characters, missions and events.
What makes Sleeping Dogs special isn’t how many pixels are on the screen. It’s the atmosphere, the characters, Hong Kong, the story and the feeling of being part of that world.
Please don’t think a sequel has to reinvent everything or compete with the biggest AAA games technically. Sometimes fans don’t want a beloved game to be “modernized” beyond recognition. We just want more Sleeping Dogs. ❤️
Keep its soul. Give us another great story. That would be enough.

😭😭😭😭🥺🙏pleeeease
I just finished Sleeping Dogs for the first time, and I honestly can’t understand how a game this good never got a proper sequel.😢
Please don’t let this series disappear. Sleeping Dogs is not just another open-world crime game or a GTA alternative. It has its own identity, atmosphere and personality. Hong Kong feels alive, Wei Shen is an incredibly memorable protagonist, and the story makes you genuinely care about the people around him. By the end, they don’t just feel like characters giving you missions — you become attached to them, worry about them, and their stories actually affect you emotionally.
The story kept me interested from beginning to end. I always wanted to know what would happen next, and there were so many moments and twists that I genuinely didn’t expect. The combination of Wei being both an undercover police officer and a member of the triads creates something really special. You start questioning where his real loyalties are, and you can actually feel how attached he becomes to the people he was originally supposed to investigate. It gives the story so much more depth than simply “drive somewhere, fight some enemies, complete a mission.”
And it’s not only the main story. It’s all the little details that make this world feel alive: the hand-to-hand combat, motorcycles and animations, phone calls while driving, the markets and streets, the sounds of Hong Kong, and even tiny environmental details. At one point I heard an Asian koel in the background — a bird I immediately recognized from my trips to Thailand. It’s such a small detail, but moments like that make the city feel like an actual place instead of just a map built for missions.
Even after all these years, the game is incredibly fun to play. I finished it in 2026 and never felt like I was forcing myself through an “old game.” Quite the opposite — I became completely immersed in it and finished the story in just a few days because I genuinely couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
And Wei Shen deserves another story. ❤️ His character, his relationships with the triads and the police, and the position he is left in at the end have so much potential for a sequel.
I know the original studio is no longer around and that making a game like this is expensive, but please consider bringing Sleeping Dogs back with another development team. If funding is part of the problem, I genuinely wish there were an official crowdfunding campaign or some other way for fans to financially support a sequel. I would happily contribute, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
There are still people discovering Sleeping Dogs for the first time more than a decade later and falling in love with it. I’m one of them.
Please bring back Sleeping Dogs. We’re still waiting for Wei Shen. ❤️🐉 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭😭😭😭
